There
are 26 letters in the English alphabet.
Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh, Ii,

There are five
vowel letters. A, E, I, O,U
There are 21
consonant letters. B, C, D,
E,F,G,H,J,K,L,M,N,P,Q,R,S,T,V,W,X,Z
There are more than
40 vowel and consonant sounds in English. In some words, the number of letters
is the same as the number of sounds.
